French Toast Casserole

Ingredients
1 loaf bread (about 10–12 cups, cubed)
5 large eggs
1 ½ cups milk
½ cup heavy cream
¼ cup granulated sugar
¼ cup brown sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 tsp ground cinnamon

Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Cut bread into cubes and spread evenly in the prepared dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
- Pour the mixture evenly over the bread, pressing lightly so all pieces soak up the custard.
- In a separate bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add cold butter and use a fork or your hands to combine until a crumbly topping forms.
- Sprinkle the topping evenly over the casserole.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is set.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Finish with powdered sugar and maple syrup if desired.
